Direction Finder Systems for Commercial Vessels

MOBMan overboard situations represent the most frequent and most dangerous types of accident at sea. In the event a person falls overboard, the crew must be alarmed immediately in order to implement rescue procedures as quickly as possible. That’s why everyone on board any vessel should be equipped with an emergency beacon (PLB) that is automatically activated in a distress situation.

As soon as the victim’s emergency beacon is activated, the RT-100 emergency receiver alarms the crew of the vessel with an acoustic signal.

It is not possible to keep a person in the water in sight for very long at night or if visibility is poor. RHOTHETA marine direction finder systems never lose “sight” of the person in the water no matter how adverse the visibility and weather conditions. They enable crew members to home in on and recover the victim quickly.

Direction finder systems are also used for navigation purposes. For example, they make it possible to determine positions or headings by taking the bearings of coastal radio stations and they can also be used to rendezvous with other vessels.

Our direction finder systems are also used to guide tenders, to locate buoys put out for scientific purposes and to accomplish a host of different missions at sea.
